This isolating mat prevents exhaust gases from making as much noise during operation of the engine, and does tend to wear out during use of the engine as hot exhaust gas bleeds by.
Each isolating mat also comes with a steel tie wrap to securely place it around the perforated tube assembly in the senior / junior or mini / micro exhaust systems.
