Zamp is proud to introduce the RZ-48Y Carbon, a premium youth helmet designed for top-tier safety, comfort, and performance. Featuring a super lightweight Carbon Mix Shell and available in striking graphic finishes, the RZ-48Y is engineered to meet the needs of young drivers in competitive motorsports.

Overview

For both young and adult drivers, the RZ-48Y offers a full-size helmet shell. With a variety of sizes, colors, and fit options available, this helmet is an ideal option for racers across regions, age ranges, and applications in karting.

With a wide vision port, composite Kevlar and fiberglass shell, and integrated top, side, and chin-bar vents, the RZ-48 will keep even the most heated of drivers cool and calm during the intensity of competition. A Z-21 2.5mm shield accompanies the helmet shell, providing clear and durable protection for the driver’s field of vision, which is wide in this helmet. This shield is available in a variety of colors and tints, all are 2.5mm thick.

Additional components that may be added to this helmet include additional padding sizes to fine-tune fitment as a driver’s head size can change slightly over time or from driver-to-driver, forced-air attachments, and rear spoilers for upgraded aerodynamics.

Each helmet also features a plus, fire-retardant interior. For karters, this may not be necessary, but we know each racer will love the ability to remove these interiors, and wash them, which each Zamp helmet is engineered to make easy! Noise reducing ear-muff areas allow for the addition of radio systems into the helmet without compromising driver protection. Integrated M6 tether anchors makes the installation of head and neck restraint systems such as the HANS device or NecksGen easy and correct in geometry every time. Additional cut-outs for hydration or external radio attachments are also a nice touch.

*Please note* that the RZ-48 Y (‘youth’) helmet is slightly smaller in shell size, and is intended for racers younger than age 12 that want the quality and safety that the RZ-48Y provides.

Helmet Ratings

The Zamp RZ-48Y is approved for the Snell CMR2016 & SFI 24.1. This rating is considered the highest safety rating a helmet can achieve within the United States. As a result, the Zamp RZ-48Y will withstand substantial impacts, with data and testing to prove it.

Sizing Your Zamp Helmet

The RZ-48Y helmet is available in sizes 52cm to 59cm.

Like many helmet brands, Zamp determines the size of their helmets based upon a driver’s ‘hat size,’ the circumference around the head just above the ears, and along the top of the brow.

For more on helmet sizing, consult the sizing chart below, or in the image gallery:

Each helmet is sold separately.
